Parent Involvement

At Valley Heights Preschool Long Day Care Centre we believe in building strong parent and educator partnerships through working together with our local community to create a centre reflective of our philosophy.

We openly encourage families to participate regularly in our centre through providing:

Individual Child Portfolios

A display children’s art work samples, observations, lesson plans and activities relevant to each individual child and the service.

Community Notice Board
Located in our foyer area and offers information on daily happenings and events within the centre

Reading material in home languages
We have an extensive library of up to date information sheets and relevant websites to assist families and children with a wide variety on information in home languages

Centre News
We provide regular newsletters for parents and carers to become aware of upcoming events, centre happenings and educators professional development.

Calendar of Events
We have a wide range of events happening each month such as visits from the fire brigade, police department, Fairy Wishes Children’s Parties and Corporate Events, Eye Screenings, School excursions, Mothers and Fathers afternoon teas, Grandparents day, dress-up days, cultural cooking and theme days of interest  to incorporate the whole family into the centre.

Special Annual Events
Valley Heights Preschool Long Day Care Centre have a number of annual events such as school photos, graduation day, end of year celebration party where children receive their special certificate, child portfolio and special gift.

Open Doors Policy

Valley Heights Preschool Long Day Care Centre openly welcomes families to participate at any time within the centre programme via our Open Door Policy.
